Adapting & Looking Forward

The 2021-22 fiscal year began when new cases of COVID-19 were at a relative low point. Normalcy appeared to be just around the corner. It ended at another point of hope, with Friends of the Columbia Gorge planning in-person events for the first time in over two years.

In between, we all experienced more difficult periods as the pandemic surged yet again. But we all continued to adapt to changing circumstances and carry on, doing all we could for the people and places we love.

For another year, Friends staff, board, members, volunteers, and activists persevered through challenging times, working together, and despite everything, making real progress in our commitment to protecting, preserving, and stewarding the Columbia Gorge for future generations.

Below are some highlights of Friends' 2021-22 work and accomplishments. None of the following would have happened without your ongoing support, energy, and commitment to ensuring the Columbia Gorge remains a vibrant, living place—wondrous, wild, and open to all.
