In 2017-18, as the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area began recovering from the aftermath of the Eagle Creek fire, questions remained about the impacts and implications of this dramatic event on the health of the forests and surrounding wildlife. In response, Friends worked with conservation and community groups to put together a series of fire forums, open to the public, about how to best support the recovery in the Columbia Gorge.
